What AMTprep is

AMTprep is an online study platform for people working toward the FAA mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings (the A&P, also called the AMT certificate). It covers the whole path rather than only the written tests: checking eligibility, the three knowledge tests (General, Airframe and Powerplant), turning a failed test report into a study plan with ACS-code remediation, the oral and practical exam, documenting experience for FAA Form 8610-2, and, after certification, Inspection Authorization prep and aircraft type-rating refreshers.

Where the content comes from

Everything on AMTprep is written against the FAA's own public-domain sources: the Aviation Mechanic Airman Certification Standards (FAA-S-ACS-1), the Aviation Maintenance Technician Handbooks (FAA-H-8083-30B General, FAA-H-8083-31B Airframe and FAA-H-8083-32B Powerplant), and 14 CFR Part 65. Every question is tagged to the ACS subject area it tests and cites the handbook it draws on, so a missed question points straight at what to read next.

How questions are checked

Before a question is published it goes through three separate accuracy checks: one on the answer key, one on every factual claim in the question and its explanation, and one looking for invented detail. All three have to pass. Guides show the date they were published and the date they were last reviewed. If you spot an error, email info@amtprep.com and we will correct it.

Who runs AMTprep

AMTprep is operated by DTech SIA, a company registered in Latvia (EU), which also runs PART66Online, a study platform for the EASA Part-66 aircraft maintenance licence. AMTprep is a separate, FAA-only product: the US licensing system is not the EASA one, so the content is written for the FAA from the ground up.
