Policies

AMTprep (amtprep.com) is operated by DTech SIA, Latvia. Last updated: 30 June 2026.

Privacy & Cookie Policy

In short: we collect only what we need to run your account and the prep service, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to access or delete your data at any time by emailing info@amtprep.com.

Who we are

AMTprep is operated by DTech SIA(“we”, “us”, “our”), a company established in Latvia (European Union) at Akas street 3, Mežāres, Babīte Parish, LV-2101, Latvia. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at info@amtprep.com. Because we are established in the EU, we process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); this policy explains what we collect, why, the legal basis for each use, how long we keep it, and your rights.

Information we collect

Account data — the email address and password you provide at registration (your password is stored only in hashed form — we never store it in plain text), or, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile and email Google shares. We also record the time of registration and your most recent sign-in.

Study & activity data — your quiz, oral and practical results, per-ACS-code mastery and progress, eligibility answers and roadmap, any experience-logbook entries, remediation plans, and the settings you choose. This data exists to deliver and personalise the prep experience for you.

Technical & usage data — when you use the service we record your IP address, browser/user-agent string and the pages requested, to operate the service securely and to detect misuse such as shared accounts.

Payment records — when you subscribe or buy a term pass, your card details are entered with our payment provider (Stripe) and are never seen or stored by us. We receive and store a record of the transaction — your name, email, the amount and a transaction/subscription ID — to confirm your purchase and meet our accounting obligations.

How we use your information, and our legal basis

To provide your account and the prep service — legal basis: performance of our contract with you.

To process payments and keep transaction records — legal basis: performance of our contract, and our legal obligation to retain accounting records.

To keep the service secure and detect fraud or shared accounts (including IP and access logging) — legal basis: our legitimate interests in protecting the service.

To send account and service emails (e.g. sign-in, receipts, and occasional relevant updates) — legal basis: performance of our contract and our legitimate interests. Any marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe link and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

Cookies & similar technologies

We use essential cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in (set by our authentication layer), and the cookies our payment provider (Stripe) needs to process a checkout securely. These are required for the site to work.

With your consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. These analytics cookies are set only after you choose Acceptin our cookie banner — until then, analytics stay off (we use Google's Consent Mode, which defaults to denied). You can decline at any time, and we ask Google to anonymize your IP address. We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf: Stripe for payments, our hosting and database provider to run the application, our email provider to send transactional messages, and — only if you consent to analytics — Google Analytics for consent-based, IP-anonymized usage statistics. If you sign in with Google, Google processes that sign-in. Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms and only as needed to provide its service to us.

International transfers

Some providers (in particular Stripe and Google) are located in or transfer data to the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the providers' approved data-transfer frameworks.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we must keep it longer by law — in particular, payment and invoice records are retained for 5 years to comply with Latvian accounting law. Security and access logs are short-lived and are cleared in the normal course of operation.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable format; and, where we rely on consent, withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@amtprep.com. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Latvia this is the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), www.dvi.gov.lv.

US & California residents

If you are a US resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it (described above), and to request access to or deletion of that information by emailing info@amtprep.com. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA additionally gives you the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Children

The service is intended for adults preparing for FAA mechanic certification and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any material change will be posted on this page with a revised date above.

Refund Policy

In short: your initial payment is refundable within 3 days; recurring/renewal charges are not refundable — you can cancel any time to stop future billing, but payments already taken on renewal are not returned.

Refunds apply to the initial payment only, within 3 days

You may request a refund up to 3 days from the day of your initial payment — whether that is your first subscription payment or a one-time term pass. This 3-day window applies only to that first payment; it does not reset or re-apply to any later renewal charge. We may ask you for a reason when you request a refund.

Recurring and renewal payments are non-refundable

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. Any recurring or renewal charge taken after your initial payment is final and non-refundable, regardless of whether the renewed period has been used. You may cancel at any time to prevent further charges; cancellation stops future billing from the next billing date onwards, but does not refund the current period or any past renewal. We recommend cancelling before your renewal date if you do not wish to continue, since we cannot refund a renewal because a user forgot to cancel in time.

Other terms

A refund can only be credited to the original payment method. We may decline or reverse a transaction to comply with payment-processor or banking rules, legal requirements, or where we reasonably consider a transaction to be fraudulent or in breach of these policies, and we may restrict accounts that make repeated purchases and refund requests. Use of AMTprep to purchase a subscription or term pass constitutes your agreement to this policy, which we may update from time to time.

Access & Delivery

AMTprep is a web-based service — there is nothing to ship. Access to the free tier is granted immediately when you create an account. Access to paid features is granted as soon as your payment is confirmed by our payment provider, and your purchase is recorded against your account.

If you are unable to access a feature you have paid for, contact us at info@amtprep.com within 5 days of your payment and we will resolve it. If we do not hear from you within 5 days, the purchased access is considered delivered.

Terms of Use

By creating an account or using AMTprep you agree to these terms. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the service for your own exam and certification preparation.

Study aid, not a certifying authority

AMTprep is an independent study and preparation aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agent of the FAA, and it is not a substitute for FAA-authorised knowledge testing, an Aviation Maintenance Technician School, a certificated A&P mechanic or Inspection Authorization, or a Designated Mechanic Examiner. We do not guarantee that you will pass any test or obtain any certificate. Always verify regulatory information against primary FAA sources (the Mechanic ACS, the FAA-H-8083 handbooks, and 14 CFR Part 65) before relying on it.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Accounts are for a single individual; sharing an account or reselling access is not permitted, and we may suspend accounts we reasonably believe are shared or misused. You must not copy, scrape, or redistribute our questions, rationales, or other content, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.

Intellectual property

FAA source material (the Mechanic ACS and the FAA-H-8083 handbooks) is in the public domain. The AMTprep platform, its original questions, rationales, study content, branding, and software are owned by DTech SIA and protected by intellectual-property law.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DTech SIA is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia. We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always posted on this page. Questions? Email info@amtprep.com.
